PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE TEST RULES BBI/BBS
The Spin Test
All BBS candidates must pass the Physical Performance Test in order to successfully complete the BBS certification criteria. You must be physically prepared prior to attending this certification course in order to pass this test! If you have medical restrictions that prevent you from physically completing this test, you must advise the Instructors at the beginning of the course. Being in poor overall physical condition does not qualify as a medical restriction.
Students must perform 10 spins left x 10 spins right x 10 pushups x 5 sets in under 3:30 minutes.
The spins may be performed in either open or closed spin styles.
PUSH-UPS MUST BE FULL-RANGE OF MOTION.
The chest must touch the bag, then arms to full extension at the top of the movement. A demonstration of acceptable push-ups will be conducted prior to beginning the physical performance exam. Repetitions that fail to meet the example given will not be counted.
The knees cannot touch the ground during any portion of the push-up. If the knees touch the ground, the attempt will be disqualified.
The Bulgarian Bag cannot be dropped or set down during any portion of the test. The only resting position is to set the bag on your shoulders to re-grip or rest. Placing the bag on the floor is only allowed for push-ups; any other placement of the bag on the floor will disqualify the spin test.
All students must successfully pass the physical performance exam in order to obtain their certification. It is recommended that all students prepare in advance for this physical test, as physical preparedness is a prerequisite to attendance.
You will be given two chances during the course to complete the physical performance test in under 3:30 minutes.
Chalk is allowed; belts, gloves, straps, and other supportive equipment are not.
